Notice of Intent
In order for Federal funds to be used on the project, Federal environmental requirements need to be met. On Friday, July 30 a “Notice of Intent” was published by FTA in the Federal Register. This notice signifies a significant federal interest in the project and begins the process of affording an early opportunity for the public and agencies to identify potential issues to be addressed in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

The Arabic and Spanish notice of public scoping meetings were placed, respectively, in the Arab American News on Saturday, August 7, 2010; and, in the El Central Hispanic News on Thursday, August 5, 2010.
