Notice of Intent

In order for Federal funds to be used on the project, Federal environmental requirements need to be met. On Friday, July 30 a “Notice of Intent” was published by FTA in the Federal Register. This notice signifies a significant federal interest in the project and begins the process of affording an early opportunity for the public and agencies to identify potential issues to be addressed in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Notice of Availability

Notice of the availability of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement was published in the Federal Register on Friday, January 28, 2011. A copy of the notice can be viewed at the link below.

Notice of Public Scoping Meetings

Notice is given that the City of Detroit, in cooperation with the U. S. Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration, will hold public scoping meetings on the Woodward Avenue Light Rail Transit Project.

The Arabic and Spanish notice of public scoping meetings were placed, respectively, in the Arab American News on Saturday, August 7, 2010; and, in the El Central Hispanic News on Thursday, August 5, 2010.
